QUESTION

Why is the fan speed over the threshold value?

ANSWER

In the 1910-24HP, there are two fans. Fan 1 is used for PSU, and Fan 2 is used for PCB on the switch.

1. Fan 1 will always run in full speed to avoid overheating of the switch. Fan2 speed is based on the full-speed or half-speed configuration of Fan 1.

FAN default configuration (cannot be change):

System FAN (Typical 6200RPM)

500 to 8000rpm, 0%, 50%,100%

Board,MAC > 60℃  100% , PHY > 85℃  100%

Board,MAC > 50℃  50% , PHY > 75℃  50%

Board,MAC > 40℃  10% , PHY > 65℃  10%

100% is 8200RPM, 50% is 6500RPM and 10% is 4000RPM

2. The threshold of 500 indicates that the Fan speed should not be below 500 RPM. Therefore, the status in the picture shows normal.
