How to setup programmable SSID?

Answer

Programmable SSID provides an option that allows users to automatically set all site-wide APs with unique SSID names and passwords on each of them.

 

You can configure at Access Point > SSID overview, enable Programmable SSID. After that the Name and PSK column will show. Below rules of parameters for your reference:

 

SSID - Command parameters (upper-case)

$AP(n) – SSID name contains first “n” characters of the AP device name

$AP(-n) – SSID name contains last “n” characters of the AP device name

$MAC(n) – SSID name contains first “n” characters of the AP MAC address

$SN(n) – SSID name contains first “n” characters of the AP serial number

SSID name can be configured with a mix of command parameters

Users can append fixed characters in SSID name

 

PSK - Command parameters (upper-case)

$GENMIX(n) – SSID PSK contains “n” letters and numbers in total

$GENNUM (n) – SSID PSK contains “n” numbers in total

Password command must have 8 or more characters

Programmable SSID only supports SSID using WPA2-Personal

All AP follows site-wide password if field is empty
