What does it mean that 2400 Mbps transmission speed on PLA6456?

Here is the calculation:
- G.hn wave-2 uses the 100 MHz ITU band-plan, as defined in ITU-T Recommendation G.9960
- G.hn wave-2 uses up to 12-bit/symbol modulation (4096-QAM)
- G.hn wave-2 uses 2x2 MIMO (that is 2 spatial streams, same concept as in WiFi)
So you get (100 MHz) x (12 bit/s/Hz) x (2) = 2400 Mbps as the physical layer speed.

The theoretical maximum channel data transfer rate is derived from G.hn Wave-2 Powerline specifications. Actual data transfer rate will vary from network environment including: distance, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.
