How can I find out the low throughput of Wi-Fi connection on 2.4 GHz?

Answer

Step 1: Check if the management VLANs have more than 20 clients per subnet.

A large subnet increases broadcast and multicast traffic, which also raises the amount of packet collisions and reduces the airtime fairness rate to slow down the network.

Step 2: Adjust the multicast rate from 5.5 Mbps to 12 Mbps on the NXC controller.

Go to Configuration > Object > AP profile > Radio. Edit the radio profile of 2.4 GHz in Show Advanced Settings: Multicast Settings.

Step 3: Configure the channel width to 20 MHz on 2.4 GHz because there are more non-over lapping channels available when using 20 MHz.

Step 4: Configure the DCS of channel selection on the 2.4 GHz radio profile.

Step5: Disable 802.11w if it's enabled.

Step6: Check the station list if there are other stations connecting in low RSSI, whcih will downgrade the total wireless throughput.
