How do I configure the device's WPS function with a PIN Code?

Scenario

Topology

Here we show you how to modify the WPS configurations on the home router device and check whether a test PC can connect to the home router via WPS. In this example, we will generate a PIN number on the home router for 5G wireless signal to let the test PC use this PIN to join the home router’s wireless network.

Step

•Step1: Go to Expert Mode > Wireless > Wireless after logging into the web GUI.

•Step2: Set the wireless band to 5GHz and change the SSID/password to what you want. E.g., enter Zyxel0005 as the SSID and 12345678 as the pre-shared key. Then press the Apply button to save the 5GHz wireless configurations.

Expert Mode > Wireless > Wireless

•Step3: Go to Expert Mode > Wireless > WPS, set the wireless band to 5GHz and enable WPS and the PIN code setting. Then press the Generate button to generate the PIN number of the home router.

Expert Mode > Wireless > WPS

•Step4: Write down the PIN number of the home router and press the Apply button to save the WPS configurations.

Expert Mode > Wireless > WPS > WPS5G

•Step5: In the test PC, find the home router’s 5GHz SSID and click the connect button to connect to the home router’s 5GHz SSID.

•Step6: Enter the PIN number of the home router and press the Next button to have the PC connect to the home router.

Verification

The PC should be able to connect to the SSID of the home router’s 5GHz wireless network.
