Why can't the Zyxel switch configure multiple SYSLOG severity levels for the same server?

Question

We have a SYSLOG server and we need the Zyxel switch to send detailed event logs to this server.

But when we checked the SYSLOG confgiuration, we noticed that we cannot select more than one severity level for the same SYSLOG server.

If we try to add another severity level (0-4) for "192.168.1.100", the previous entry is overwritten.

Why can't I configure SYSLOG server "192.168.1.100" with Log Levels "0-7" and "0-4"?

Answer

Log Level refers to which events should be sent to the SYSLOG server.

If Log Level "0-4" is selected, this means that events with Emergency (0), Alert (1), Critical (2), Error (3), and Warning (4) severities will be sent to the SYSLOG server.

If Log Level "0-7" is selected, this means that events with Emergency (0), Alert (1), Critical (2), Error (3), Warning (4), Notice (5), Informational (6), and Debug (7) severities will be sent to the SYSLOG server.

This means that configuring SYSLOG server "192.168.1.100" with Log Levels "0-7" and "0-4" at the same time is a misconfiguration.
