Why does the captive portal pop out an error message when users browse an HSTS-enabled website?

Question

Why does the captive portal pop out an error message when users browse an HSTS-enabled website?

Answer

When a user uses the portal to browse an HSTS-enabled website, he is redirected to the NXC's web GUI over HTTPS, and the NXC then sends its own credentials to the browser.

However, if the user would browse the original page which he wanted to see (e.g., Google), an error message will display showing the certificate common name and the URL does not match.
