How can users set up a syslog that is using a different port on the syslog setting?

Question

A user has set up a cloud syslog server: https://papertrailapp.com.

Due to the fact that it's a cloud server, there is a need to define different ports per account.

For example, the cloud server defines a syslog server's port as: 33978.

How can the syslog server port be changed to 33978 that is not using the default port 514?

Currently there is no way to configure this on the GUI.

Answer

Use the following CLI commands to change the default port as desired:

Router(config)# logging syslog 1 port 33987

Router(config)# write

(Note that syslog 1 means syslog#1 on the GUI. There are 4 syslog servers that can be defined.)
